This street performer was clearly the star of Mallory Square the evening that my husband and I went to see the sunset. This charismatic young man, ended his show juggling flaming batons on top of a bicycle suspended 10 feet in the air above the crowd. The moment he stopped to talk to the crowd resulted in my favorite shot…the siilhouette of him sitting upon his bike in his bowler hat.

Here is the same performer juggling on the ground.

Hemmingway Cat

If you are a fan of Hemmingway, you probably know about Hemmingway Cats. Polydactyl cats have extra toes on their paws. Hemmingway was given a six toed cat from a ship’s captain and brought it home to his home in Key West. Some of the cats still living at the home which is now a museum are descendants of that original cat. I think I spent half of the tour trying to get a picture that captured the 6th toe.

Sunrise at Key West

We stayed on the east side of the island, just north of the Southern Most Point of the U.S. I managed to roll out of bed  at dawn, after an evening at Sloppy Joes, and run downstairs to capture the sun rising over the Atlantic.

I like the similarity of these two images. Like two pieces of sculpture.

A box of sarongs in a Key West Market. This piece is available as a 16 x 20 stretched canvas.
